On stainless steel SEL Oyster bracelet with flip lock clasp, tachymeter engraving on bezel, special screw down push buttons, crown and case-back, case diameter 40 mm. Zenith self winding movement, chronograph functions. Black dial with luminescent hands and stick hour markers; sub dials for 30 minutes, 12 hours and seconds. Sub dial outer rings have changed from a silvery gray to a reddish light brown color. Box. Excellent, unpolished condition.
The color change phenomenon was first seen at the end of production in 1993, when a technical error caused a color change in the paint of the registers track from light to dark, creating the Daytona Ref#16520 known to the Italian Collectors as “Brown Compax Patrizzi”. The color change was not always even on the entire surface of the register outer track, and the intensity varies from one model to another, yet, the beauty and brightness of the dial remains unchanged.
