Gents Audemars Piguet Limited Edition Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Michael Schumacher in platinum, Ref#26568PM.OO.A021CA.01. Number 79 out of a limited production of 100. On original navy rubber strap with platinum tang buckle, platinum screw down crown and platinum pushers with titanium push piece guards, case diameter 44mm. Selfwinding movement, chronograph function, date, sub dials for 30 minutes, 12 hours and seconds. Schumacher took a personal role in the creation of this watch, working closely with AP lead artistic designer Octavio Garcia. The racing inspiration in this watch is apparent in certain respects, but in others it is quite subtle. Unique design features that are most notable would include two blue stars and five red stars (on the outer tachy scale) symbolizing the seven titles of world champion driver Michael Schumacher – two in blue for Benetton (1994 and 1995) and five for Ferrari (between 2000 and 2004). Note also the minute track with a distinct “checkered flag” pattern. And lastly the hour and minute hands, made of faceted gold; a new design from AP which are meant to emulate the monocoque construction of an F1 Car. Gray tropical dial with applied stick hour markers. Accompanied by special presentation display box embossed with the two blue stars and five red stars, warranty and instruction booklets.
